About Us

The Gamma-Lambda Chapter of Kappa Sigma, founded in 1909 at Iowa State University, has upheld the values of fellowship, leadership, and academic achievement for over a century. Our brotherhood is built on lasting bonds that continue to define us today, and we are more committed than ever to strengthening these connections—both in the chapter and with alumni.

We are currently in the midst of an exciting $1.5 million renovation project, modernizing our chapter house while preserving the spirit of brotherhood that has always been at our core. Alongside these improvements, we are expanding our alumni engagement and planning more frequent events, including semesterly and summer gatherings, to keep our bonds strong beyond our time at Iowa State.

Over the years, Gamma-Lambda brothers have remained resilient, upholding the traditions and values of Kappa Sigma. Our alumni have made a significant impact in fields such as journalism, software development, business, engineering, founding companies, leading initiatives, and becoming influential figures in their respective industries and communities.

On campus, our chapter continues to make its mark, currently ranking first in fundraising for Special Olympics Iowa. Greek Week initiatives have been especially important to us in recent years—we placed third last year and are now leading the charge, reinforcing our commitment to service and community impact.

The strength of Gamma-Lambda lies in our brotherhood and lifelong connections. From shared college experiences to professional networks, the friendships formed here stand the test of time. As we grow, we remain dedicated to fostering stronger alumni ties, enhancing engagement, and creating lasting opportunities for connection. The best days of Gamma Lambda aren’t just in the past—they’re still ahead of us.
